About The Position

Ensures that the evaluation of Radiology procedures, equipment and staff are administered in a fashion that is accurate, timely, responsive and reliable. Customers served include UHS employees, Medical Staff, patients and regulatory agencies. Priority will be given to activities that directly affect customer service. This role performs routine diagnostic imaging procedures, including portable, fluoroscopic, and operating room exams, as requested by referring physicians. The technologist completes and documents all required imaging and procedural information accurately on requisitions, communicates effectively with referring physicians, radiologists, ancillary departments, and patients to ensure coordinated, high-quality care, and adheres to radiation safety protocols and ensures compliance with ALARA (As Low as Reasonably Achievable) principles. Proficiency in using UHS information systems for imaging workflow and patient documentation is required, along with providing clear patient education related to imaging procedures, ensuring patient understanding and comfort, and maintaining accurate and thorough documentation to support high standards of patient care and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Radiologic Technology
  • New York State License as Radiologic Technologist
  • ARRT Registration

Nice To Haves

  • CPR certification within the first three months of hire.
