About The Position

Radiologic Technologist Nights - 6pm to 6:30am. This is a 3 - 12 hour shifts per week / 72 hours per pay period position. A weekend program is available, paid at 1.5x base wage. The position is responsible for proficiently performing all requested Radiological department procedures available, ensuring quality of care and compliance with department policy. Proficiently performs x-rays and CT scans and administer nonradioactive materials into patient’s blood stream for diagnostic purposes. Tests may be performed independently or in collaboration with technologists who specialize in other scanning modalities.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree (two year college or technical school) Required, Field of Study: Radiology
  • Registered as a Radiologic Technologist by ARRT within 60 days of hire: Required
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Wisconsin Radiographic License is required within 60 days of hire

Nice To Haves

  • CT experience is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Review and evaluate computer-generated information to determine if images are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes.
  • Operate or oversee operation of radiologic to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes.
  • Use radiation safety measures and protection devices to comply with government regulations and to ensure safety of patients and staff.
  • Position imaging equipment and adjust controls to set exposure time and distance, according to specification of examination.
  • Explain procedures and observe patients to ensure safety and comfort during scan.
  • Position and immobilize patient on examining table.
  • Take thorough and accurate patient medical histories.
  • Set up examination rooms, ensuring that all necessary equipment is ready.
  • Monitor patients’ conditions and reactions, reporting abnormal signs to physician.
  • Record, process, and maintain patient data or treatment records and prepare reports.
  • Coordinate work with clerical personnel or other technologists.
  • Provide assistance in dressing or changing seriously ill, injured, or disabled patients.
  • Maintain patient flows and achieve production goals.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance or minor emergency repairs on radiographic equipment.
  • Demonstrate proficiency on new equipment, procedures and techniques.
  • Efficiently transport patients for radiology exams, explaining procedures to patient and ensuring quality care.
  • Assist with and/or performs all procedures as requested.
  • Maintain proper filing system of radiology records, explaining procedures to patient and ensuring quality care.
  • Assist the Director in the Performance Improvement program, as necessary and assigned.
  • Ability to demonstrate the knowledge and competence specific to Neonates, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults and Geriatrics.
  • Adequately perform other duties as deemed necessary for the continued viability and success of the department and organization as a whole.
