About The Position

The Radiologic Technologist prepares patients for radiologic procedures, operates radiologic equipment to produce diagnostic images, and ensures radiation safety measures are followed. This role involves patient interaction, equipment operation, data entry into electronic medical records, and maintaining equipment functionality. The technologist must be able to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environment, analyze data, solve problems, and manage their workload independently. Travel to various locations and overtime may be required.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school for x-ray technicians
  • Current licensure in Mississippi
  • Exceptional customer service, interpersonal skills, and communication skills
  • Must be able to stand for 6-8 hours a day; includes walking, stooping and bending
  • Must be able to move equipment and transfer patients
  • Must have strong data entry skills
  • Must be able to complete tasks with a high-degree of efficiency and accuracy while working in a fast-paced environment with frequent disruptions
  • Must demonstrate ability to analyze data and resolve complex problems
  • Must have the ability to work independently while managing time and workload appropriately
  • Must be able to travel to various locations and work overtime hours as needed

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience preferred
  • Proficiency of electronic records systems preferred

Responsibilities

  • Prepares patients for radiologic procedures, including escorting, providing instructions, and assisting with positioning.
  • Explains procedures to patients and ensures their care, safety, and comfort during scans.
  • Operates radiologic equipment to produce diagnostic images of the body.
  • Positions radiologic equipment and adjusts controls according to examination specifications.
  • Takes x-rays following established requirements and regulations for patient care and safety.
  • Uses radiation safety measures and protection devices for patients and team members.
  • Ensures radiologic equipment remains in working order and reports malfunctions.
  • Retrieves radiologic orders and inputs related data into the electronic medical record.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
