About The Position

Operates x-ray and auxiliary equipment, processes images, and maintains and cleans equipment. Maintains required documentation. CARDIAC CATH LAB EXPERIENCE REQUIRED.

Requirements

• Vocational or Technical school Diploma required
• New York State and/or Connecticut Department of Health licensure as a Radiologic Technologist, required
• Current ARRT Radiology registration required
• 1-3 years of technical experience, required
• BLS through the American Heart Association

Responsibilities

• Prepares patient for exam, relieves patient anxiety by translating examination into layman terms, and ensures consent form is obtained if necessary.
• Performs various x-ray exams according to established standards, procedures, and division protocols. Positions patient, arranges immobilization devices, adjusts x-ray equipment, and operates controls to obtain correct exposure. Monitors patient’s condition, recognizes and reports abnormalities to the Radiologist, keys in patient history data, and operates equipment for transferring computed images.
• Processes and maintains exposed images, labels film for identification, maintains required records, utilizes film markers, ensures images are properly marked, and ensures images are legibly labeled with correct date and patient identification. Enters the exam onto the daily log sheet as needed and properly completes tracking steps for each examination.
• Performs related duties as required.
