About The Position

The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic imaging procedures, including fluoroscopic (C-arm) and general X-ray studies, to support patient care within the Duke Raleigh and Duke Spine and Pain – Morrisville clinics. This role requires flexibility to work between both locations, strong technical proficiency, and a commitment to patient safety, efficiency, and excellent customer service.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Current North Carolina Radiologic Technologist licensure (or ability to obtain)
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Demonstrated proficiency in: C-arm fluoroscopy and/or Diagnostic X-ray imaging
  • Strong knowledge of radiation safety standards and imaging protocols
  • Experience in spine, pain management, or interventional procedures
  • Previous experience working in a multi-site or ambulatory clinic environment
  • Familiarity with EMR systems (e.g., Epic)

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic radiologic procedures using C-arm fluoroscopy and general X-ray equipment in accordance with physician orders and established protocols
  • Assist physicians with fluoroscopically guided interventional procedures (e.g., spine and pain injections)
  • Ensure accurate patient identification and verification of orders prior to imaging
  • Prepare and position patients while maintaining comfort, dignity, and safety
  • Maintain strict adherence to radiation safety and ALARA principles
  • Collaborate closely with providers, nursing staff, and other team members to ensure efficient clinic flow
  • Review images for quality and completeness; repeat studies as necessary
  • Document procedures appropriately in the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Perform routine quality control checks and ensure equipment is functioning properly
  • Maintain exam rooms, supplies, and infection prevention standards
  • Provide patient education regarding procedures and answer questions within scope
