About The Position

Capital Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine provides comprehensive orthopaedic care supported by advanced diagnostic tools, physical therapy services, and a full range of non-surgical and surgical treatment options. Our experienced orthopaedic team helps patients overcome musculoskeletal pain and injuries so they can return to the activities that matter most.

Requirements

  • Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Radiologic Technology.
  • Current Iowa Radiologic Technologist certification/licensure.
  • Current registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required professional certification.
  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology and current radiologic technology practices.
  • Strong patient service, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with patients and staff.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA guidelines and regulations.
  • Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
  • Must meet applicable mandatory reporting requirements for children and adults.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

  • Operate computerized and manual radiologic equipment for orthopaedic diagnostic purposes.
  • Prepare and position patients to obtain appropriate radiographic exposures.
  • Perform radiographic, fluoroscopic and portable imaging while following proper radiation safety precautions.
  • Follow physician protocols for specific studies.
  • Perform daily quality checks and participate in quality control and quality assurance activities.
  • Maintain radiation safety compliance, including monthly radiation badge monitoring.
  • Maintain accurate computerized records, files and reports.
  • Obtain and process outside imaging for upcoming surgical procedures and patient referrals.
  • Complete required billing and pre-ancillary documentation.
  • Report equipment issues or malfunctions to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA guidelines and regulations.
  • Establish effective working relationships with patients and staff.
  • Represent Capital Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine professionally when interacting with patients, clients and vendors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
