About The Position

The Union Hospital Imaging Department is currently recruiting for a Full-Time Radiologic Technologist to work at the UH Breast Center.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a staff technologist.
  • Requires technologist to be experienced in managing accreditations for ACR, MQSA.
  • Completion of two-year accredited program in Radiologic Technology is required.
  • State Licensure on Radiation Protection is required.
  • CPR Certification
  • An Associate’s degree is required; candidates are required to obtain their Associates of Science degree (can be substituted within a related field), within three (3) years of their start date as outlined in the Education Agreement required to be signed as a condition of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Mammography certified when applicable (achieved within two years of hire – when applicable)
  • ARRT Mammography Registered if applicable - the successful completion of the Mammography Registration exam is a requirement for those performing mammography procedures. A technologist, who is recruited and non-certified, will have a grace period of 2 years following hire to pass this exam.

Responsibilities

  • Content level expert of radiographic equipment and knowledge and proficiency to troubleshoot.
  • Content level expert of radiology supported computer systems and CD burners.
  • Performs diagnostic radiographic procedures and quality control as defined by department guidelines.
  • Maintains compliance with local, state, and federal regulations in ACR and state licenses.
  • Complies with Joint Commission regulations.
  • Assists in the learning process of students and new staff in departmental procedures, quality control and radiation safety.
  • Demonstrates problem solving skills, acts as liaison OP Imaging department, clinicians, nursing, and ancillary departments to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Maintains required credentials for CPR, critical skills, and mandatory in-service education.
  • Performs other duties as required.
