The Radiologic Technologist will competently perform basic and intermediate radiographic procedures, including general diagnostic and general fluoroscopic examinations. This role involves communicating with patients to explain procedures, obtain clinical history, confirm understanding, and address questions. The technologist will position patients, select appropriate exposure factors, and ensure radiation protection and safety. Key responsibilities include identifying patients, labeling images, comparing requisitions to physician orders, processing images for quality, and assisting/consulting with Radiologists. The role also requires preparing and maintaining records, entering patient and study information into the radiology information system, and documenting billing codes. Patient positioning and transporting duties, which may require lifting and pushing/pulling with proper technique, are also part of the role. The technologist must demonstrate knowledge and skills appropriate for the age of the patients served, understanding principles of growth and development across the lifespan.
