About The Position

The Radiologic Technologist operates x-ray equipment to produce radiographs as ordered by physicians. This involves positioning and instructing patients, adjusting equipment, and determining proper voltage, current, and exposure time for each radiograph.

Requirements

• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists – Radiography (ARRT-R): Required
• Radiologic Tech (RT) in the state of practice: Required in CA and HI
• Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required
• Fluoroscopy license in state of employment: Required in CA within 6 months of hire
• Fluoroscopy (FLUORO): Required
• Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQI BLS) certification: Required

Nice To Haves

• Associate's Degree in radiologic technology: Preferred

Responsibilities

• Performs screening procedures for diagnostic interpretation.
• Explains procedures to patients and answers questions.
• Prepares equipment for use as needed.
• Prepares examination rooms for patient exams.
• Positions patients for imaging exams.
• Monitors patients and ensures safety during exams.
• Produces diagnostic images.
• Documents exam information.
• Reports important information to the physician.
• Verifies exams on PACS.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
