About The Position

Southeast Medical Group is seeking a full-time Radiologic Technologist for one of its many locations. This role involves performing high-quality general x-rays in a primary care setting where patient care is paramount. The position offers set daytime hours and the opportunity to work closely with providers and MAs to ensure the best diagnostic exams for patients. The technologist will also contribute to the ancillary team by assisting with various administrative and clinical tasks.

Requirements

  • An Associate degree or higher in Allied Health or Sciences
  • Passed the registry or set to take exams for license and be in good standing with the ARRT
  • Knowledge of anatomy and experience in positioning for exams with the ability to adapt for challenging situations.
  • Must have good stamina and be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment with strong multi-tasking skills
  • Have strong time management skills, be detail oriented and reliable
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Be a fast learner with a basic understanding of computers

  • Must pass background check and drug screening

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that patient information and procedures ordered are correct by communicating with the patient and altering, if necessary, before doing exam.
  • Explain procedure to patient and aid patient in getting into the proper position for ordered exam, utilizing aids if necessary.
  • Reduce radiation to patients and staff through utilizing radiation protection techniques, beam restrictive devices, patient shielding and knowledge of exposure factors.
  • Produce a quality image with few repeats, identifying markers and correct orientation for viewing.
  • Critique images to ensure that all anatomy is included and look for potential anomalies that may require further imaging.
  • Keep a log of exams done and exams sent out for radiologist reads and ensure that results are sent to the provider in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a clean, safe environment for staff and patients by wiping down equipment and handling all equipment with care. Report any problems immediately.
  • Assist in clinic by helping input faxes, clinical documents and assisting with drug reps in down time.
