About The Position

We are looking for the right Radiologic Technician / Medical Assistant to join our rapidly growing practice. The objective for this role is to provide radiologic technician coverage for specific times of the week, and provide medical assistant coverage during low imaging volume and high MA shift requirements. This position is for our West Nashville location. Our clinic has new DR equipment, with image acquisition and display within 30 seconds and a float-top table. Clinic hours are generally 9 am - 7 pm, 7 days a week.

Requirements

  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification
  • TN State License (limited or full scope radiography)
  • Flexible, team oriented and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to work some weekends
  • Exceptional attention to detail and documentation with excellent communication, customer service, organization and telephone skills
  • Ability to handle high call volume and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Prior physician office/clinic MA work experience required
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Knowledge of common insurance types/pre-authorizations/pre-certifications
  • Knowledge of medications
  • Strong computer skills required

Nice To Haves

  • Full Scope imaging certification not required, but preferred
  • 1-year Internal Medicine/Primary Care office experience desired
  • IV experience appreciated but not required
  • Electronic Health Record (EHR) experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Operate or oversee the operation of radiologic equipment to produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes
  • Explain procedures and observe patients to ensure safety and comfort during scan
  • Measure and record a patient's vital signs
  • Draw blood
  • Give injections
  • Perform clinical tasks as needed
  • Assist with procedures directly supervised by the physician
  • Return calls to patients
  • Handle clinical and phone triage duties and appropriately routing patient scheduling
  • Obtain vitals, patient history, and perform effective telephone triage
  • Assist with procedures, good initiative - able to anticipate providers needs
  • Calculate dosages and administer injections (IM, SubQ & ID) as well as PO medications
