About The Position

The Radiologic Technologist I operates imaging equipment to make images of designated portions of body as ordered by the physician. Positions and instructs the patient for radiological or fluoroscopic examinations, adjusts imaging equipment, and determines the proper voltage, current and desired exposure time for each image. May prepare patient for x-ray by administering contrast IV and non-IV. Technologists focus on infant, children, and adolescent patients, as well as adults as needed. All imaging staff must be able to address family and patient concerns to help facilitate a Family Centered Care approach.

Requirements

  • Newly graduated from an accredited Radiography Program with less than six (6) months clinical experience.
  • Graduate from an approved education program in Radiography/Radiologic Technology
  • Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; collaborate and accept direction.
  • Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone; think critically; manage multiple assignments effectively; organize and prioritize workload; work well under pressure; problem solve; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail.
  • Amer Reg Rad Tech - Radiography (ARRT-R)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Certified Radiologic Tech - CA - to be obtained within three (3) months of hire or transfer
  • Certified Radiologic Tech Fluoroscopy - CA - required within six (6) months of hire or transfer.

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) year of acute care technologist experience in a pediatric inpatient hospital.
  • Venipuncture Certificate.
