About The Position

St. Luke’s Health – Memorial Lufkin is a 279-bed facility and a member of CommonSpirit Health, a national nonprofit health system serving East Texas. The facility provides over a quarter of a million patient services annually and contributes millions of dollars in local charity care and community support. It is the area’s first Joint Commission Certified Primary Stroke Center, with board-certified neurologists and neurosurgeons offering full-spectrum stroke care. Recognized nationally as a HealthCare Center of Excellence, St. Luke’s Health-Memorial Lufkin offers compassionate, comprehensive health care, including off-campus rehab and outpatient facilities and services. The facility includes a large emergency department, 32 private rooms, and dedicated imaging and OBGYN, wound care, infusion, and lab services. As a Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech), you will be pivotal in producing diagnostic images that enable Radiologists to accurately diagnose and manage patient conditions. Each day, you will perform a variety of imaging examinations, including X-rays, ultrasound, diagnostic fluoroscopy, CT/CAT scans, and MRIs, while actively contributing to a positive patient experience through direct interaction.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program from an accredited institution.
  • Medical Radiographer: TX (MRAD:TX)
  • Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT (RTR)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through an approved AHA program

Responsibilities

  • Performs complete diagnostic imaging tests on patients according to the specific departmental procedure protocols under the direction of the Medical Director.
  • Obtains and documents patient history.
  • Prepares equipment ensuring that equipment is operational, safe and functioning according to diagnostic standards.
  • Performs periodic QA and Ensures requisite documentation.
  • Problem solves equipment failure and contacts Lead Technologist regarding equipment problems.
  • Ensures that daily equipment and room maintenance are performed before/during/ after each procedure, and that special precautions and measures are performed to ensure infection control standards.
  • Completes all quality checks and Ensures that equipment logs are maintained.
  • Completes all clinical supply inventories, ensuring that each diagnostic room is complete with the necessary supplies required to perform the procedure.
