About The Position

At NorthBay Health the Rad Tech I works under the supervision of the Tech Manager. Performs general radiographic studies to established QA criteria. Produces radiographs and organizes images, completes required paperwork and charges. The Technologist is responsible for patient safety and well-being during examinations. Assists and instructs patients during examinations. Assists with clerical duties. Reports all equipment malfunctions. Cleans and inspects equipment prior to use. Requirements

  • High school preferred.
  • Graduate of an AMA approved radiology course.
  • California Certified Radiologic technologist (CRT) required, ARRT required.
  • Current AHA or equivalent healthcare provider BLS Certification required.
  • Less than two years of experience in general radiology.
  • Basic clerical and computer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Performs radiographic examinations in accordance to established protocols. Subject to periodic evaluation by Manager for quality control.
  • Assists and instructs patients prior and during examinations.
  • Responsible for evaluating each study to ensure it meets required quality standards.
  • Responsible for patient safety and well-being during examinations.
  • Responsible for inspecting and cleaning equipment prior to use.
  • Reports to outpatient supervisor equipment failures and/or malfunctions.
  • Reports all patient complaints, discrepancies and drug reactions according to QA policies.
  • Responsible for producing images, burning CD and occasional film printing, organizing paperwork and completing requisition data.
  • Works in other areas of department such as: front office, etc.
  • Assists other modalities as time allows.
  • Other duties as assigned.
