About The Position

This role combines the responsibilities of a Radiologic Technologist I and Clinical Care Support staff. The Radiologic Technologist I performs diagnostic x-ray procedures and EKGs, ensuring quality and accuracy of images, operating PACS and DR systems, and maintaining equipment. The Clinical Care Support duties include rooming patients, gathering vital information, assisting with procedures, administering medications, and documenting all services in the electronic medical record. This position supports quality initiatives and works in conjunction with other clinical staff within the Walk-In Clinic, with a specific focus on ensuring x-ray coverage at this location.

  • Clinical Care Support will work in conjunction with Medical Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, LPN, and/or RN staff assigned to the Walk-In Clinic.
  • To ensure x-ray coverage at the Walk-In Clinic, the Radiologic Tech I/Clinical Care Support position will not float to as a clinical support staff outside of the Walk-In Clinic.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic x-ray procedures and EKG’s.
  • Perform exams and procedures for patients maintaining an efficient workflow.
  • Review results for quality and accuracy.
  • Review CPT charges for accuracy.
  • Operate PACS and DR systems accurately.
  • Ensure proper patient identification and anatomical orientation on all images.
  • Monitor patients during examination.
  • Maintain record of examinations performed.
  • Ensure that the x-ray rooms are adequately stocked and clean.
  • Properly maintain care of equipment and department.
  • Report any equipment problems or deficiencies to the Practice Manager or Imaging Manager.
  • Cross-train as necessary.
  • Maintain adequate records and required paperwork.
  • Follow established OSHA policies.
  • Participate in continuing education opportunities/maintain ARRT credentials.
  • Forward all service reports to Manager.
  • Follow all HIPAA policies.
  • Room patients and gather information: Document chief complaint, perform and document vital signs, review medications, review changes in medical history, and perform required screenings.
  • Clean rooms.
  • Perform additional functions to include, assist with procedures, administer oral medications, teach crutch use, apply splints.
  • Implement, apply, and follow approved protocols and standing orders.
  • Follow and apply all approved workflows.
  • Document accurately in the patient’s electronic medical record all services rendered.
  • Prep patient for any exams that will take place during appointment.
  • Reply 24 – 48 business hours to all patient calls or web encounters.
  • Maintain supply, medication, and sample inventories.
  • Comply with all HIPAA, OSHA, Compliance, and IT standards and policies.
  • Support Quality Initiatives (ACO, Meaningful Use, PCMH, and PQRS) by data collection and compliance of respected programs.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned.
