About The Position

The Diagnostic Radiology Technologist performs diagnostic medical radiographic procedures on all patient populations (infant through geriatric) and exhibits superior levels of customer service. The technologist effectively operates radiographic equipment to produce quality images in a variety of settings (Radiology Department, Emergency Department, Operating Room, or at the patient's bedside). The technologist explains procedures to the patient, demonstrates appropriate patient positioning, and obtains optimum views of specified anatomy. The technologist adjusts equipment controls to set exposure factors based on knowledge of the procedure and established guidelines. The technologist demonstrates effective radiation safety practices and assists the Radiologist, when necessary. The technologist interacts with numerous computer programs and systems on a daily basis. The technologist may also perform various other duties as assigned by the Director of Radiology.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology
  • Current Kansas License for Radiology Technology (LRT)
  • American Registry of Radiology (ARRT) or graduate student eligible for exam
  • CPR certification (Basic Cardiac Life Support [American Red Cross-CPR for the Professional Rescuer] or Basic Life Support [American Heart Association-Health Care Provider] obtained within first 90 days of employment)

  • One year hospital experience preferred
