Under general supervision, prepares patients for and performs Radiologic examinations. This role requires adherence to ALARA and safety principles at all times, flexibility, team spirit, compassion, respect, politeness, and accountability. The technologist will provide healthcare services to all age groups, demonstrating competence in interpersonal relationships and completing assigned procedures efficiently. They will utilize Hospital Information System (HIS), Radiology Information System (RIS), and PACS, and answer technical telephone inquiries with good phone etiquette. Maintaining a safe and clean working environment, appropriate stock levels, and personal professional growth are essential. The role involves understanding medication security, adhering to infection control guidelines, assisting student technologists, and safely transporting and moving patients. Following Universal Protocol, including two patient identifiers and SBAR communication, is mandatory. The technologist will provide patient and family with procedural information, evaluate medical histories, complete paperwork, and arrange for translation services or communication aids as needed.
