About The Position

The Radiologic Student Extern builds hands-on experience while learning from experienced imaging team members. The extern contributes to patient care by helping patients feel comfortable and confident throughout the imaging experience, supporting technologists and the broader care team, and maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient imaging environment. The role is available on a PRN basis.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an accredited radiology program and expected to graduate in no less than one year, or be a second-year student in an accredited radiology program.
• Availability to work on a PRN basis.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of the employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for imaging by obtaining histories, verifying identities, and assisting with positioning while communicating clearly and compassionately.
• Safely transport patients between areas while supporting their comfort and emotional needs during procedures.
• Set up imaging rooms, manage room turnover, and organize supplies to maintain a clean, safe, and efficient environment.
• Communicate patient needs and concerns promptly to technologists and the care team.
• Participate in learning opportunities and follow safety and confidentiality standards.
