About The Position

Under the Direction of the professional staff, assists with patient care to provide support services to the patient, Radiology unit, and professional staff. Supports the mission, vision, values and strategic goals of Methodist Health System. This role functions as an assistant to the professional technologist in that modality, conforming to safety standards dictated by regulatory agencies (i.e., safety manuals, MSD sheets, OSHA issues). The employee maintains a clean work environment with adequate equipment and supplies, ensuring all Imaging Equipment is kept in good working condition and related supplies are kept clean and at desired par levels. Patient care activities delegated and supervised by professional staff include patient transport (i.e., wheelchair, stretcher, or bed) utilizing appropriate safety techniques to prevent patient and self-injury. The role also involves assisting the Technologist with room prep, stocking supplies, cleaning, and moving and transport of patients. The employee must respond effectively in emergencies and assist in the prevention of patient injury by initiating CPR when appropriate, utilizing side rails and restraints to prevent patient injury, and reporting to professional staff patients at increased risk for injury. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Healthcare Provider CPR certification required
• Ability to remain flexible and adaptable to change.
• Able to develop and maintain good working relationships with all levels of staff, patients and family members
• Able to follow oral and written instructions
• Demonstrates accountability for own actions.
• Demonstrates compliance with hospital dress code.
• Demonstrates initiative, is a self starter. Is able to work independently, prioritizing and organizing workload effectively to complete tasks within the time frames delegated.
• Demonstrates knowledge of medical terms.
• Demonstrates understanding of MHS guidelines and reference, Infection Control guidelines, and MHS safety guidelines.
• Proactive not reactive, analyzes problems accurately, develops recommendations and takes appropriate actions to solve problems.
• No work experience required if currently enrolled a Imaging program.
