About The Position

RAYUS Radiology is looking for a Radiologic & Bone Density (DEXA) Technologist to join their team. The role involves operating assigned scanner(s) to produce images and/or bone scans of the patient's body for diagnostic purposes. RAYUS is focused on making radiology a critical first step in diagnosis and proper treatment.

Requirements

  • High School diploma, or equivalent
  • Graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of radiography
  • ARRT registered technologist, current and in good standing
  • Licensed Radiological Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
  • Must have sufficient training and experience to competently perform Radiologic and Bone Density procedures independently

  • Experience performing Bone Density (DEXA) scans

Responsibilities

  • Screens patient before exam for any precautions or contradictions pertaining to examination, using two patient identifiers to ensure correct patient and procedure.
  • Explains and prepares patients for Radiologic imaging procedures, explaining the procedure and positioning patients appropriately.
  • Performs routine and advanced Radiologic imaging procedures with minimal supervision, while providing patient support.
  • Adjusts Radiologic scan parameters correctly and as needed, utilizing dose reduction techniques.
  • Follows physicians' orders precisely and conforms to safety regulations.
  • Performs routine bone density (DXA) scans, providing patient support throughout the procedure.
  • Performs routine quality control (QC) and assurance tasks to ensure accurate bone mineral density (BMD) measurements and maintain equipment performance.
  • Maintains ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements.
  • Accurately maintains patient records within the Radiology Information System (RIS).
  • Maintains an orderly and clean work area promoting good safety habits.
  • Maintains equipment in good working order; cleans and disinfects equipment after each use.
  • Ensures compliance with all HIPAA guidelines.
  • Assist with maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades.
  • Monitor the medical supply inventory and requests supplies as necessary.
  • Assist with the training of new team members, acting as a resource and providing technical expertise, as applicable.
  • Other Duties and Projects as Assigned.
