About The Position

Cape Fox Concentric Methods is seeking a Radiographic Technologist specializing in Pain Management to provide comprehensive radiographic imaging services at the Mike O’Callaghan Military Medical Center, Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada, supporting the Defense Health Agency Medical Q-Coded Support and Services, Next Generation task order. The role involves performing special radiographic procedures, assisting with contrast media administration, conducting patient screenings, ensuring correct patient positioning, and upholding quality and safety standards within the Radiology Department. The position is non-exempt with a total hourly pay of $51.97, consisting of a base rate of $46.88 plus $5.09 per hour for Health & Welfare (H&W) as per Service Contract Labor Standards (SCLS) regulations. Requirements

Completion of an accredited radiologic technologist course.
Completion of high school or general education development equivalency.
Minimum of two years of experience independently operating x-ray equipment, producing and processing radiographs, and assisting with fluoroscopy and special radiographic procedures.
Minimum of 6 months of experience working specifically in interventional pain management OR spine surgery.
Basic Life Support certification is required.
Must possess and maintain current registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
Must maintain current ARRT registration throughout the duration of employment.
Must maintain all required clinical competency documentation, registration, certification, training, credentialing, and facility access requirements throughout employment.
Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.

Responsibilities

Operates fixed and portable radiographic equipment to produce routine diagnostic medical images.
Computes techniques and adjusts control panel settings such as kilovoltage, milliamperage, exposure time, and focal spot size.
Positions patient to image desired anatomic structures.
Selects image recording media, adjusts table or cassette holder, aligns x-ray tube for correct distance and angle, and restricts radiation beam for maximum patient protection.
Exposes and processes images.
Applies principles of asepsis, infection control, and medical ethics.
Selects imaging protocols and required accessories, and makes adjustments based on specific examination requirements.
Records and processes the image.
Manipulates the recorded image using computer applications.
Enhances and stores digital images via picture archiving and communication system, prints films, and creates image CDs.
Assists physicians with fluoroscopic, interventional, and special examinations, and instructs patients to prepare for procedures.
Sets up sterile trays, prepares patients, and draws up medications or contrast for injections for pain management treatment using aseptic technique.
Prepares and assists with contrast media administration.
Maintains emergency response cart.
Assists physicians in treating reactions to contrast material and prepares sterile supplies and equipment.
Ensures health protective measures such as universal precautions and radiation protection measures are established and employed.
Screens, schedules, and checks in patients, and escorts patients to treatment areas, as well as takes, monitors, and records physiological measurements.
Screens patients at the reception desk for eligibility and verifies appointments with the appropriate health care provider, along with booking, scheduling, and notifying patients for follow-up as required.
Provides patient/parent education as requested.
Properly cleans and organizes the examination room upon completion of procedures and examinations, and performs any necessary cleaning of equipment as established by departmental policies, procedures, and standards.
Ensures all equipment is properly cleaned and stored at the end of each work shift.
Accomplishes routine cleaning and restocking of exam rooms and patient areas.
Ensures preventive maintenance and routine cleaning are performed as directed.
Attends in-service training in new procedures, techniques, and equipment.
Maintains required licensure, registration, certification, competency documentation, training, credentialing, and facility access requirements throughout employment.
Complies with applicable Military Treatment Facility policies, Radiology Department standards, DHA requirements, HIPAA requirements, local procedures, safety requirements, and all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
Notifies the appropriate Government supervisor and company leadership of any inability to perform scheduled duties as required.
