About The Position

Inova Northern Virginia Ambulatory Surgery Center is a full service ambulatory outpatient facility. We provide cost-effective outpatient services using modern, state-of-the-art technology in a friendly and caring environment by highly-skilled, compassionate staff serving the Washington DC Metro area We are seeking an experienced Radiographic Technician to provide assist physicians in performing diagnostic procedures by preparing the patient and operating the x-ray equipment in order to obtain diagnostic images. Responsibilities include:

Requirements

Completion of an appropriate radiographic technician program. Certification preferred.
Current CPR certification at hire, or earned within 90 days of employment
Strong communication skills, ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend the English language

Responsibilities

Performs radiology services for procedures utilizing c-arm and mini-c-arm support during surgical procedures
Assures that all radiology equipment receives annual inspection by a physicist
Maintains competence in utilization of c-arm and mini-c-arm and portable x-ray
Ensures that dosimeter badges are sent for evaluation of radiation exposure at the appropriate intervals
Recognizes safety hazards and initiates appropriate corrective and/or preventive measures
Monitors radiation safety processes in all areas of the center
Identifies equipment and supply needs to ensure high quality radiology service
Performs on-going monitoring of x-ray gowns and shields to ensures that they are intact and able to provide protection for physicians and staff
Maintains all records for inspections and radiation monitoring
