About The Position

Encompass Medical Group is a primary care provider group with five offices in the Kansas City metro area, dedicated to high standards of healthcare excellence. They are seeking a PRN Radiographer for their Premier Imaging department. This role involves floating primarily between the Hickman Mills and Lee's Summit offices, with potential travel to other metro locations. The individual will perform diagnostic radiographic services, provide patient care and assessment, evaluate images according to professional standards, and participate in quality assurance activities while maintaining appropriate credentials.

Requirements

  • Graduate of Radiologic Technology program accredited by the JCERT (Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology)
  • Certification by the ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)

Responsibilities

  • Collects pertinent data about the patient and procedure to provide appropriate imaging services that meet the radiologists standards
  • Confirms patient identification and pregnancy status when appropriate
  • Performs diagnostic radiographic exam using professional judgement and discretion
  • Determines appropriate shielding devices or other accessory equipment
  • Administers first aid or provides life support in emergency situations
  • Monitors the patient’s physical and mental state during the procedure
  • Operates imaging equipment/devices, performs accurate patient positioning, and calculates correct exposure factors
  • Documents patient data, procedures, and relevant information as determined by practice standards
  • Evaluates radiographs for technical image quality
  • Produces additional images as needed to provide appropriate outcome
  • Performs and documents quality assurance activities based on established quality protocols
  • Provides health care services with respect for patient’s dignity and age-specific needs
  • Adheres to accepted standards, policies, and procedures adopted by the profession and regulated by law
  • Maintains patient confidentiality
  • Maintains appropriate credentials, continuing education, and certification related to clinical practice
  • Performs other duties as assigned or requested
