About The Position

Radiology departments at Atlantic Health System provide state-of-the-art imaging services designed to meet a wide range of patient needs with the highest quality and safety standards. Many of our facilities adhere to image gently® recommendations, ensuring radiation doses are adjusted for pediatric patients. Our medical team comprises board-certified, fellowship-trained radiologists with expertise in various specialties including breast imaging, cross-sectional imaging, neuroradiology, nuclear medicine, musculoskeletal imaging, pediatric imaging, and interventional radiology. Highly skilled technologists and registered radiology nurses offer additional expertise and support. Radiology services are available at Chilton, Hackettstown, Morristown, Newton, and Overlook medical centers, as well as Goryeb Children's Hospital and various outpatient locations. Specific services may differ by location.

Requirements

  • Ability to operate radiologic medical equipment.
  • Ability to interpret, communicate and deliver age-appropriate care.
  • Assess and respond to patients physical, social, and psychological needs.
  • Ability to activate, participate and follow through in emergency events.
  • Meet physical demands consistent with the position such as walking, lifting, standing, pushing and pulling.

Responsibilities

  • Operate radiologic medical equipment.
  • Perform age-appropriate diagnostic, OR, and fluoroscopic radiological procedures.
  • Perform Quality Assurance and Quality Control for radiologic medical equipment as assigned.
  • Manage image production, including troubleshooting and downtime protocol performance.
  • Maintain repeat rates to a minimum through proper use of radiographic equipment, patient positioning, and accurate technical factors.
  • Utilize teleradiology applications to process imaging orders for remote dictation.
  • Utilize picture archival and EMR systems to process imaging orders, including scheduling, order transcribing, billing charges, and medication documentation.
  • Ensure continuity and adequate follow-through regarding equipment malfunctions, supply shortages, etc.
  • Interpret, communicate, and deliver age-appropriate care.
  • Assess and respond to patients' physical, social, and psychological needs.

  • Participate in the clinical education of radiography students, as required.
  • Cover on call, as required.
