Radiation Therapist, PRN
About The Position
The Radiation Therapist delivers safe and accurate radiation therapy in accordance with each patient’s prescribed plan of care. The therapist explains procedures, answers questions, and supports patients throughout treatment. Duties include preparing treatment rooms and equipment, assisting and positioning patients, verifying daily treatment parameters, administering prescribed radiation doses, maintaining complete treatment records, documenting patient positioning through imaging, monitoring patients for unusual responses or changes, and performing tumor localization procedures. The role also maintains treatment-room supplies and coordinates patient schedules across treatment machines. The position is PRN/pool and scheduled for days at Monument View Medical Plaza.
Responsibilities
- Perform radiation therapy treatments according to each patient’s prescribed plan of care.
- Explain treatment procedures to patients, answer questions, and help them feel informed and supported.
- Prepare treatment rooms and equipment; safely assist patients into treatment areas and position them accurately and comfortably.
- Verify daily treatment parameters, administer prescribed radiation doses, and maintain treatment records.
- Document patient positioning through imaging and observe patients for unusual responses or changes during treatment.
- Perform tumor localization procedures.
- Maintain an organized, well-stocked treatment room.
- Schedule patients across treatment machines to support timely care.
