Radiation Therapist, PRN
About The Position
The Radiation Therapist delivers safe and accurate radiation therapy treatments in accordance with each patient’s prescribed plan of care. The role supports patients by explaining procedures, answering questions, and helping them feel informed and comfortable throughout treatment. The therapist prepares treatment rooms and equipment, assists and positions patients, verifies daily treatment parameters, administers prescribed radiation doses, and maintains treatment records. The role also documents patient positioning through imaging, monitors patients for unusual responses or changes, performs tumor localization procedures, maintains room supplies, and coordinates patient schedules across treatment machines.
Requirements
- Perform radiation therapy treatments.
- Explain treatment procedures to patients.
- Prepare treatment rooms and equipment; transfer patients to treatment areas and position them for treatment.
- Check daily treatment parameters, deliver prescribed doses, and maintain treatment records.
- Photograph patients in treatment position and observe them for unusual changes.
- Perform tumor localization.
- Maintain treatment-room supplies.
- Schedule patients for treatment on treatment machines.
