About The Position

This is a temporary position for up to 6 months. The Radiation Therapist administers radiation treatments, simulations, and dosimetry functions, and fabricates blocks in preparation for treatment. The role requires initiative and independent judgment, and requires providing proper client care in accordance with departmental and hospital policies and procedures. Treatments are performed in scheduled or emergent settings under the supervision of the Radiation Oncologist. The therapist updates procedure manuals as needed, manages the daily treatment schedule for clinical equipment assignments, and demonstrates familiarity with safety features in each clinical area. The role works closely with reception, Nursing, and physician components to provide patient care.

Requirements

• Minimum active exposure in an approved Radiation Therapy program.
• Completion of formal training from a JRCERT-accredited radiation therapy program.
• Massachusetts Radiology License (MALIC).
• CPR certification.
• ARRT(T) Radiation Therapy certification.
• Ability to function independently and proficiently in a high-stress, work-intensive environment.
• Attendance at all mandatory education is required.
