About The Position

The Radiation Therapist is responsible for simulating and delivering radiation therapy treatments to patients, including specialized procedures such as stereotactic radiosurgery. The position is based on-site at Virtua Health in Moorestown and is classified as per diem and part-time, with a first shift schedule.

Requirements

Certificate of completion or degree from an accredited Radiation Oncology Program.
ARRT accreditation in Radiation Therapy.
New Jersey state license in Radiation Therapy.
CPR certification.

Nice To Haves

One year of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Deliver radiation therapy treatments to patients as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist and work efficiently to maintain department schedules.
Perform CT simulations as directed by the Radiation Oncologist, including fabrication of positioning and immobilization devices, tattooing, and simple beam modification devices.
Perform daily quality assurance on the Linear Accelerator and CT Simulator.
Troubleshoot problems with the linear accelerator and CT simulator, contact vendor support, and inform the physicist and manager.
Accurately document in electronic and written medical records.
Thoroughly explain procedures to patients and ensure their understanding; attend to side effects and act as a liaison between patients, nurses, and physicians.
Review each chart for accurate documentation and changes in prescriptions, written orders, or patient setup parameters.
Perform a time-out before initiating all treatments and simulations.
Schedule patients according to department guidelines in the EMR.
Keep the treatment room and CT Simulation room neat and orderly throughout the day.
Maintain basic knowledge of billing procedures.
Perform basic dosimetry calculations.
