About The Position

Hannibal Regional is seeking a Radiation Therapist for its new cancer center in Kirksville, Missouri. The role supports establishing and growing cancer care services close to home for patients throughout northeast Missouri. Employment is anticipated to begin around mid-2027, with start dates varying by position and potentially including orientation, training, and preparation before patient services begin.

The Radiation Therapist is responsible for the safe and effective operation of equipment used to deliver ionizing radiation to treat neoplastic diseases and other medical conditions requiring radiation therapy. The therapist administers prescribed treatments in accordance with the Radiation Oncologist’s orders and instructions. The role also includes pretreatment procedures such as patient simulations, treatment-planning preparations, and fabrication of immobilization and treatment devices.

Requirements

• Graduate of an ARRT-approved educational program, with a certificate, associate degree, or bachelor’s degree.
• Current certification and registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Demonstrated knowledge, technical skills, and clinical competency to perform radiation therapy procedures safely and effectively.
• Experience and capabilities sufficient to perform assigned duties, as determined by the Senior Radiation Therapist and Radiation Oncologist.

Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed radiation treatments according to the Radiation Oncologist’s orders and instructions.
• Perform pretreatment procedures, including patient simulations and treatment-planning preparations.
• Fabricate immobilization and treatment devices.
