About The Position

This is a contract position for a Radiation Therapist. The primary location will be New Milford Hospital, with potential flexibility to Danbury Hospital on certain days. The role involves operating radiation and auxiliary equipment, processing images, maintaining equipment, and keeping required documentation.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program.
  • New York State and/or Connecticut Department of Health licensure as a Radiologic Technologist.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration.
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience performing radiologic exams.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares patient for exam, relieving anxiety by explaining the procedure in layman's terms and obtaining necessary consent forms.
  • Performs various x-ray exams according to established standards and procedures, positioning patients, arranging immobilization devices, and adjusting x-ray equipment for correct exposure.
  • Monitors patient's condition during the procedure, recognizing and reporting abnormalities to the Radiologist.
  • Operates equipment for transferring computed images to film and archival.
  • Processes and maintains exposed images, labels film for identification, and maintains required records.
  • Ensures images are properly marked for side (right/left) and legibly labeled with correct date and patient identification.
  • Enters exam information onto the daily log sheet and completes correct tracking steps for each examination.
  • Performs related duties as required.
