About The Position

Sage Group HealthCare Staffing is seeking an Oncology Radiation Therapist for a 13-week travel/contract position in Keene, NH. This role involves administering prescribed radiation treatments, preparing patients and equipment, monitoring patients during treatment, and ensuring radiation safety measures are followed. The position requires a strong understanding of radiation therapy procedures, patient care, and equipment calibration.

Requirements

  • Current Radiation Therapist experience: 2+ years - Required
  • Oncology experience - Required
  • VARIAN TRUEBEAM experience - Required
  • ARIA (Treatment Record and Management) experience - Required
  • ARRT - Required
  • BLS Certification from AHA - Required
  • NH MIRT License - Required (Can be obtained upon offer, must be willing and eligible to apply)
  • Traveler must have their own vehicle for this need

Nice To Haves

  • Previous travel experience - Highly Preferred
  • Reside beyond a 50-mile radius of the facility location

Responsibilities

  • Administers prescribed radiation treatment, setting the necessary factors, and monitors both patient and control panel during the treatment.
  • Prepares patients in exam rooms and assists the Radiation Oncologist with medical examinations.
  • Prepares patients, rooms, and equipment for treatment and simulations and assists the Radiation Oncologist with simulations.
  • May inject dye into skin of patient as a marker, providing there has been demonstration of appropriate training and skills to the satisfaction of the Oncologist.
  • May administer contrast media retrograde into the urinary bladder in patient during simulation.
  • Performs all necessary calibration on equipment as prescribed by the Radiation Safety Officer in accordance with the conditions of therapy license, or any other regulatory body.
  • Observes radiation safety measures for patients and personnel.
  • Records all patient doses and gathers all confidential history on patients, documents all reactions that the patient may have, and reports these findings to the radiologist.
  • Updates patient examination history file, records unusual conditions/limitations, accurately documents appropriate information in daily log book, completes procedure, performs scheduling, consultation and billing procedures as required, performs other paperwork as applicable.
