About The Position

Texas Oncology is looking for a PRN Radiation Therapist to join their team and support the TXO McKinney location. Texas Oncology is a large community oncology provider with a significant presence in Texas and southeastern Oklahoma. Their mission is to provide leading-edge technology and research for high-quality, high-touch, evidence-based cancer care, enabling patients to fight cancer close to home with family support. They aim to help patients achieve 'More breakthroughs. More victories.' The Radiation Therapist, under direct supervision, administers radiation therapy treatments to patients. Key responsibilities include ensuring accuracy in positioning the radiation beam to the designated tumor volume and delivering the prescribed dose. The role also involves supporting and adhering to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited radiation therapy technology program.
  • ARRT certification required.
  • Must hold valid state license for radiation therapy.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately delivers and records radiation therapy treatments under the direction of a radiation oncologist and chief radiation therapist.
  • Accurately enters and maintains patient treatment parameters into electronic medical record.
  • Participates in clinical instruction of newly hired therapists and students.
  • Assists in maintaining patient appointment schedule and submitting correct billing information.
  • Accurately cuts blocks, when applicable.
  • Accurately makes custom molds.
  • Accurately completes simple mu calculations.
  • Accurately interprets a computerized treatment plan.
  • Maintains clean, safe, and organized work environment.
