About The Position

Under the direction of the Clinical Manager, the Radiation Therapist applies ionizing radiation to the patient in accordance with the prescription and instruction of the Radiation Oncologist. This role administers radiation therapy by exposing specific areas of the patient's body to prescribed doses of radiation. The therapist also maintains patient charts, noting information such as the area treated, radiation dosage, equipment control settings, patient reactions, and total radiation received to date. Consultation with radiation oncologists and other clinical staff is also a part of this role.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited Radiation Therapy program and registry eligible with ARRT.
• Licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association (SCRQSA) is required.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.
