About The Position

Sentara is hiring an experienced Radiation Therapist II at Princess Anne Hospital, in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This position will provide support to our Hampton Roads Hospitals to include: Sentara Princess Anne Hospital, Sentara Virginia Beach General, Sentara Brock Cancer Center, Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, Sentara Obici Hospital, Sentara Careplex Hospital, and Sentara Albemarle Medical Center. The role involves providing radiation therapy to patients as prescribed by a Radiation Oncologist according to established practices and standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience
  • Must meet 4 of the following criteria and have passed associated competencies to move from Radiation Therapist I: Pediatric Center: Age based competencies, EBRT/Sim Clinical Coordinator-RTT Students: Preceptor/clinical coord Comp, SRS/SBRT: General SRS/SBRT Comps, Simulation Tech: General Sim Comp, IV Start Comp, Treatment Competencies: General EBRT Comp, Advanced Imaging: Identify/Vision RT/iCBCT/Gated CBCT/4D CBCT, Brachy Therapist: General Brachy Comp, Second Licensure (CT, MRI, R): Proof of second licensure
  • Associates Degree in Radiologic Technology REQUIRED
  • ARRT Certification REQUIRED
  • 3 years Radiation Therapy experience REQUIRED

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of an approved certification program prior to 2016 in lieu of Associates degree will also be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver external beam radiotherapy to include (3D, IMRT, SRS/SBRT)
  • Deliver brachytherapy treatment
  • Perform patient simulations; preparing equipment, such as immobilization, treatment, and protection devices
  • Reviewing patient records for accuracy
  • Acting as liaison with physician and supportive care personnel
  • Maintaining patient records, reports, and files
