POSITION PURPOSE: The Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) is responsible for the day-to-day management and implementation of the Radiation Protection Program at a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers FUSRAP Project. The project involves remediation of radiological and chemical contaminants from the site soils. The RSO will interact closely with the project team including project management, field crews, radiological control technicians, safety professionals and subcontractors. The project has an accredited on-site laboratory to perform near “real time’ analysis of soils and water as well as air sample analysis for personal, general area and perimeter monitoring.
