Radiation Safety Analyst 3
About The Position
The Radiation Safety Analyst 3 evaluates, implements, and controls the company’s radioactive waste management programs and procedures to protect against radiation hazards. The role recommends and develops policies for inspection standards, decontamination procedures, emergency procedures, waste handling, and disposal services. It controls personnel radiation exposures, environmental releases, and surface-type contaminants, and stays current with federal, state, local, and industry radiation protection regulations to ensure radiation levels comply with standards. The position may also develop and direct radiation training and monitoring programs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of relevant exempt experience; or a master’s degree and 3 years of relevant professional experience; or a Ph.D. and 0 years of experience.
- The following may be used as equivalents to a bachelor’s degree: NNS Apprentice School graduate; Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate; associate’s degree or other formal 2-year program plus 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience; military experience at paygrade E-5 or above; high school/GED plus 4 years of combined manufacturing, shipbuilding, trades, military, or other relevant exempt experience; or high school/GED plus 8 years of combined manufacturing, shipbuilding, trades, military, or other relevant non-exempt experience.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
Nice To Haves
- Past U.S. Naval Nuclear Propulsion experience, such as RL or RM Division.
