About The Position

The Radiation Oncology Nurse functions in a collaborative role with the Radiation Oncology Team and other healthcare providers in providing continuity and outcome-directed quality patient care. Interdependently assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care provided throughout the treatment course and follow-up period. Job involves direct patient care and encompasses patient/family teaching, symptom management, counseling, and supportive role to assist patient and family in coping with and adjusting to diagnosis and treatment of cancer.

Requirements

  • Current Missouri Registered Nurse License or Current Registered Nurse License from a Compact State. If a Compact License is held, it must be in the nurse's state of residence.

Responsibilities

  • Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care throughout the treatment course and follow-up period.
  • Provides patient and family teaching.
  • Manages patient symptoms.
  • Provides counseling and supportive role to assist patients and families in coping with cancer diagnosis and treatment.
