About The Position

Sky Lakes Medical Center is seeking a compassionate, skilled Radiation Oncologist to lead its established radiation oncology service at Sky Lakes Cancer Treatment Center. The physician will practice as the sole employed Radiation Oncologist, partnering directly with an experienced dual-discipline oncology Advanced Practice Provider and a dedicated interdisciplinary team. The role offers clinical independence and influence over clinical workflows, service-line growth, and strategic planning in a community-owned health system serving Klamath County and surrounding communities. The practice has a structured schedule with four clinical days and one dedicated on-site administrative day. Clinic hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.; Friday departure is midday as scheduling permits. Clinical weekends and holidays are not required. The practice is outpatient-focused, with hospitalists managing all inpatient admissions and rounding. Specialty physicians designate eight call days per month, including one weekend. Calls are screened around the clock by an external RN triage service, with an average of approximately five physician calls per month. The physician will have support from an experienced RO/MO APP, Medical Physicist, Certified Medical Dosimetrist, four Radiation Therapists, CT/Simulation Tech, RO RN Navigator, and Certified Medical Assistant, as well as broader cancer-center staff. Four established contract and agency Radiation Oncologists provide PTO coverage, peer consultation, and remote Tumor Board collaboration. Typical monthly volumes are approximately 22 new consults, 75 office visits, 60 on-treatment visits, and 21–25 simulations, with 60-minute new consultations and 30-minute follow-ups. The center uses an Elekta Infinity Linac and Philips Big Bore CT Simulator and provides IMRT, IGRT, SBRT, and LDRT for malignant and benign conditions. Additional therapies and procedures include Pluvicto, Xofigo, ultrasound-guided SpaceOAR hydrogel placement, and oropharyngeal scopes. Team coordination includes weekly radiation oncology chart rounds, weekly joint care conferences with Medical Oncology, and monthly multidisciplinary Tumor Boards. Compensation includes a guaranteed annual salary of $550,000 and a $100,000 sign-on bonus. The package includes medical, dental, and vision coverage for the physician and dependents, employer retirement contributions, paid time off, relocation assistance, annual CME funding and paid educational leave. The employer supports J-1 and H-1B visa holders. Sky Lakes is an independent, not-for-profit 501(c)(3) hospital, and full-time physicians qualify for federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness. Sky Lakes Medical Center is an independent, community-owned teaching hospital and ISO 9001-certified facility. It is described as a Top 100 Rural & Community Hospital and the 2026 AHA Foster G.
