About The Position

Amentum is seeking a Radar/Optics Engineering Supervisor to support the Space Force Range Contract (SFRC). This role primarily involves leading Radar/Optics team activity for the Eastern Launch & Test Range (ER) to accomplish the Space Force Range Contract (SFRC) objectives and requirements. The supervisor will guide team members, make work assignments, and support engineering efforts for the sustainment, maintenance, and operation of the LTRS. Ensuring personnel are properly trained and providing guidance, coaching, and mentoring are key responsibilities. The position also involves supporting and improving SFRC Engineering processes, utilizing resource management tools, and identifying/resolving technical issues. The supervisor will monitor workflow, prepare progress reports, provide cost and schedule estimates, manage time accountability, and develop annual performance appraisals. Other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor of Science degree in STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math)
  • 5+ years of engineering experience with the emphasis on Radar and Optics systems.
  • Familiarization with ER LTRS instrumentation systems and sites.
  • Familiarization with: System design process, Requirements reviews, Design reviews, Build and implementation, Formal testing
  • Experience working with Windows based computer systems and components and Office tool suite
  • Flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific task or mission requirements
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship
  • Valid U.S. Driver's License

Responsibilities

  • Lead Radar/Optics team activity for the Eastern Launch & Test Range (ER) to accomplish the Space Force Range Contract (SFRC) objectives and requirements
  • Guide team members in understanding company vision and principles and work in concert with other engineering and department stakeholders to ensure successful planning and execution of engineering activities
  • Make work assignments to ensure qualified personnel are available to meet schedules and responsibilities
  • Support engineering efforts to support sustainment, maintenance, and operation of the LTRS
  • Ensure personnel are properly trained to execute their responsibilities and receive initial and recurring guidance, coaching, mentoring, instructions, and direction needed to ensure quality and timely service
  • Support execution and improvements to SFRC Engineering processes and procedures
  • Utilize resource management data tools to identify and resolve resource issues and support escalation and communication to management
  • Identify and support the resolution of technical issues and handle escalation and communication to management
  • Monitor workflow to ensure delivery of products on time in accordance with SFRC requirements
  • Prepare and provide progress and status reports, and briefings as required or requested, to inform department and program management of anticipated performance success, issues, improvement initiatives, as well as recognizing personnel through the Amentum Recognition Program
  • Provide cost and schedule estimates for various engineering efforts and task proposals
  • Management of time accountability via company timekeeping system with approval responsibilities and resolution of any timecard issues in accordance with Amentum processes
  • Development of annual performance appraisals for each employee and the development of yearly team and individual goals
