Leidos Defense Systems is seeking talented Radar Engineers to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex sensor and radar orientated problems. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering from an ABET-accredited school with a strong demonstration of the skills listed below will also be considered and 2 – 4 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with less than 2 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience in radar algorithm development and/or radar analysis.
  • Must have excellent teamwork skills and possess and show good fundamentals in the following: Digital signal processing, Tracker algorithms, MATLAB, Radar Simulation and Modeling.
  • Must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville – North Alabama, AL, area.
  • Must be a US Citizen and possess (as well as maintain) a Final Secret Clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with radar simulation along with a strong background in statistics and probability.
  • Additional skills in the following is desired: Electromagnetics, Modern C++ development, Familiarity with Linux.

Responsibilities

  • Support advanced technology radar programs including development of radar signal processors, radar tracking algorithms, advanced sensors in EW environments.
  • Simulation of radar systems.
  • Field-testing of RF sensors and systems.
  • Deployment of advanced sensor systems.
  • Work closely with other skilled engineers as they deep-dive into existing algorithms to find areas for improvement in both performance and processing latency.
  • Investigate newer algorithms available in literature to determine if they can provide improvements to the various radar programs.
  • Experience or willingness to lead a team of engineers in solving difficult radar algorithm problems, peer reviewing new algorithms developed internally or obtained from industry, overseeing tasking, and other team lead activities.
