About The Position

NV5 is seeking motivated Senior and Principal Engineers to join our Civil Transportation/Roadway Department in our Parsippany, NJ office. This role offers the opportunity to be an integral part of a multi-discipline design team, with exposure to various disciplines required for advancing transportation and civil-related NJDOT and County projects. The multi-discipline design team approach will provide successful candidates the opportunity to pursue a path focused on technical and/or project management, aligning with their strengths and interests. The office has a wealth of interesting projects and a significant backlog of Transportation Assistance Program (TAP) and Safe Routes to School (SRTS) projects with NJDOT, offering excellent opportunities for fast-track career growth and leadership or support on these assignments.

Requirements

5 – 10 years of Engineering experience.
Desire to work in a Team environment.
Capable of supervising Engineer/Junior Engineer level staff.
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (BSCE).
NJ PE License.
ADA design experience a plus.

Responsibilities

Provide technical oversight to engineering staff.
Preparation of roadway/highway design and plan development.
Support the preparation of technical reports and studies, including Concept Development and Final Design Reports.
Perform condition assessments and inventory of substandard/critical design elements.
Collaborate with multidiscipline design engineers and technicians.
Opportunities for involvement in Project Management skills pertaining to project budgets and schedules, and adherence to a project’s scope of work.
Support Public Outreach tasks.
Participate in professional organizations and technical societies.
