About The Position

Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking an analyst to support verification, validation, and accreditation (VV&A) activities associated with Missile Defense System (MDS) modeling and simulation (M&S). The candidate will be supporting MDA/SEQV Systems Verification, which has been designated the MDA M&S agent, with a particular emphasis on application of radar expertise.

Requirements

• US citizenship and a secret level security clearance is required.
• BS and/or MS in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or Computer Science discipline and 7+ years of relevant experience
• Expert working knowledge of radar fundamentals
• Familiarity with MDA radar LRIDs (logical record indicators)
• Understanding of radar discrimination methodology, especially with respect to wideband features
• Experience with radar debris mitigation logic

Nice To Haves

• experience with environmental perturbations that affect radars, such as refraction, atmospheric absorption, scintillation, and sky noise is desirable
• Knowledge of signal processing techniques is a plus

Responsibilities

• Develop and conduct sensitivity studies to assess radar performance characteristics within the scope of MDA M&S
• Develop data analysis code to assess HWIL/Digital Models against their requirements and determine their suitability for stated intended uses in MDS simulations
• Research technical papers on models and identify data pertinent to model VV&A
• Collaborate with counterparts from other stakeholder agencies, such as software developers and accreditation agents, to establish adequate V&V evidence and correct modeling issues
