About The Position

P17 Solutions is hiring a mid- to senior-level Radar and Combat Systems Engineer to support mission-critical engineering activities at Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division in Dahlgren, Virginia. The engineer will apply expertise in the AN/SPY radar family, Mk 99 Fire Control System, radar signal processing, and Aegis Weapon System integration to support system analysis, modeling, integration, testing, and performance evaluation. The role involves working with government and industry teams to assess radar and fire-control performance, analyze test and operational data, investigate system anomalies, and develop technically sound recommendations for complex air and missile defense challenges. The engineer should understand radar principles and how sensors, fire-control systems, weapons, and combat-system elements interact throughout an engagement. The selected candidate will be among P17's foundational NAVSEA team members, with opportunities to make a technical impact, work directly with company leadership, and help grow P17's radar and combat-systems engineering presence at Dahlgren. The position is full-time. It is primarily onsite in Dahlgren, Virginia, and candidates must reside within a 90-mile radius; relocation assistance is not available. The posting also states that remote or hybrid work may be available to candidates currently residing in the Atlantic City Region, New Jersey; Washington, DC; or Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Travel may exceed 30%; another work-environment section specifies travel over 50%. Candidates must be U.S. citizens, at least 18 years old, and eligible to obtain and maintain the required government security clearance. Sponsorship is unavailable. Candidates receiving a conditional offer will undergo a government investigation, and employment, education, and references will be verified. Full-time employees are eligible for health, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance, a 401(k) retirement plan, educational assistance, generous leave policies, 11 paid holidays, and any additional paid leave required by law. Compensation is commensurate with experience, qualifications, certifications, locality, clearance level, and contract requirements; the posting does not give a specific salary range.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, systems engineering, physics, mathematics, computer science, or a related technical field.
  • Mid- to senior-level experience.
  • At least 5 years of relevant engineering experience; senior candidates should generally have 10 or more years.
  • Active DoD security clearance or ability to obtain and maintain the clearance required for the position.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: radar systems, Aegis Weapon System, naval fire-control systems, missile-defense systems, digital signal processing, sensor integration, or combat-system test and evaluation.
  • Working knowledge of radar fundamentals, including waveform processing, detection, tracking, clutter, electronic beam steering, signal-to-noise considerations, and measurement accuracy.
  • Ability to analyze complex technical problems and communicate conclusions clearly to engineering and program stakeholders.
  • Experience producing professional technical reports, analyses, presentations, or test documentation.
  • U.S. citizenship required; P17 Solutions cannot provide sponsorship.
  • Must be at least 18 years old and meet eligibility requirements to obtain and maintain the clearance needed for the position.
  • Must reside within a 90-mile radius of Dahlgren, Virginia; no relocation assistance is available. The posting also states that remote or hybrid candidates must currently reside in the Atlantic City Region, NJ, Washington, DC, or Oklahoma City, OK.
