This role is an integral part of the Radiology team, providing patient and departmental support to ensure efficient workflow and safe patient care. The position involves a wide range of services including pre and post-procedure setup, clerical tasks, stocking, inventory management, room turnover, and disinfection. Procedural duties include sterile setup, adherence to Universal Protocol, patient identification, specimen and medication labeling, and specimen collection. The role also assists with patient transport, transfer techniques, exam setup, and positioning. Proficiency in electronic applications for scheduling, documentation, image review, and communication is required. Additional duties may be assigned by leadership, including training new employees. Maintaining patient confidentiality and professional communication with staff, patients, and visitors is essential. The role requires excellent communication, customer service, critical thinking, analytical, problem-solving skills, and strong attention to detail. Adaptability, flexibility, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment within a strong team structure are crucial. Department-specific responsibilities may include knowledge of safe practices involving equipment and isolation precautions, assistance with power injectors, removal of IVs, leads, cuffs, and O2, obtaining prior imaging, and tracking studies.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or G.E.D Equivalent
  • Physically able to stand and/or walk for long periods of time.
  • Requires upper and lower physical strength to be able to manage the pushing and pulling of stretchers with and without patients occupying them.
  • Must be organized, detail oriented, efficient, and be able to multitask to prioritize in a fast paced environment.
  • Adapts to unpredictable situations.
  • Must have a strong work ethic and be able to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be comfortable with electronic applications and technical office equipment (printers, fax machine, copiers, telephone systems).
  • Successful completion of a BLS course within the first 6 months of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide patient and departmental support ensuring efficient workflow and safe patient care.
  • Perform pre and post procedure and exam set up and tasks.
  • Assist with clerical needs, stocking, inventory management, room turn over, and disinfection of department and equipment.
  • Perform sterile procedure set up, adherence to Universal Protocol, identification verification, specimen and medication labeling, specimen collection and handling.
  • Assist with patient transport, patient transfer techniques, exam set up and patient positioning.
  • Utilize electronic applications for scheduling, transport, documentation, image review, and communications.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by leadership, including training of new employees.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Communicate professionally with all staff, patients and visitors.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication, customer service, critical thinking, analytical and problem solving skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Prioritize daily tasks simultaneously within a fast paced, ever changing work environment.
  • Be adaptable and flexible within a strong team structure.
  • Adhere to safe practices involving equipment and isolation precautions.
  • Assist with power injectors, removal of IV’s, removal and application of leads, cuffs and 02.
  • Obtain and load prior outside imaging and reports.
  • Assist with tracking studies.
