About The Position

This is an apprenticeship program for a Radiologic Technologist specializing in MRI. The program starts on November 9, 2026, and is a 100% FTE position with a schedule of 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM. Participants will attend classes at 610 N Whitney Way, Madison, WI, and complete clinical experiences at various UW Health locations including University Hospital, UW Health Sports Medicine Clinic, 1 South Park Street clinic, and UW Health East Madison Hospital. The goal is to complete the program and obtain ARMRIT certification within 14 months. The role involves participating in competency-based classroom and clinical instruction, gradually becoming independent in performing complex procedures, and performing technical imaging examinations under general supervision using various imaging equipment and computers.

Requirements

• Completion of college coursework, including college level science (Anatomy and Physiology, Biology, & Chemistry).
• 6 months of direct patient care experience.
• ARMRIT Certification within 14 months.
• Basic Life Support/CPR within 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Complete the program and obtain an ARMRIT certification in 14 months.
• Participate in competency-based classroom and clinical instruction, becoming increasingly independent in performing complex and specialized procedures, through program progression.
• Perform technical imaging examinations under general supervision and using a wide variety of imaging equipment and computers.
