About The Position
Founded in 1940, Dignity Health - Marian Regional Medical Center is a 191-bed, acute care, nonprofit hospital located in Santa Maria, California. Serving over 250,000 patients annually, the hospital offers a full complement of services including Level II Trauma Center, Level III NICU, cancer care, orthopedics, and stroke care. As our Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech), you will be pivotal in producing diagnostic images that enable Radiologists to accurately diagnose and manage patient conditions.Each day, you will perform a variety of imaging examinations, including X-rays, ultrasound, diagnostic fluoroscopy, CT/CAT scans, and MRIs, while actively contributing to a positive patient experience through direct interaction.To excel, you must deeply understand diagnostic imaging's critical importance, encompassing expertise in workflow, patient positioning, and capturing precise results essential for timely and accurate diagnoses.
Requirements
- Diagnostic technologist with work experience in diagnostic radiology and competence in one additional modalities (CT, MRI, Angio, Cardiac Cath, Ultrasound, or Mammography), upon hire or 5 years of work experience in diagnostic radiology.
- Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT, upon hire
- Medical Radiographer: CA, upon hire
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire
Responsibilities
- Performs a variety of imaging examinations, including X-rays, ultrasound, diagnostic fluoroscopy, CT/CAT scans, and MRIs.
- Actively contributes to a positive patient experience through direct interaction.
- Demonstrates proficiency and competence in all aspects of diagnostic radiology, fluoroscopy, surgery exams, and other applicable modality.
- Demonstrates competence in filming, processing, quality control.
- Able to teach students and new technologists.
- Demonstrates appropriate administering and monitoring of radiopaque material per Marian Medical Center guidelines.
- Identifies and initiates accurate assessment of life-threatening conditions.
- Assists in Imaging Services as needed, demonstrating competence in all areas or modalities assigned.
- Demonstrates technical knowledge of all imaging equipment in diagnostic radiology, surgery, and other assigned modalities.
