About The Position

Performs surveillance of radiological work areas to detect and document the level and type of ionizing radiation/radioactivity in accordance with radiological control regulations. Performs and documents air, water, solid and surface radioactivity/radiation surveys using instruments designed to detect type and level of activity. Determines usage and maintenance of nuclear containment apparatus. Responds to radiological incidents to ensure employee and environmental safety.

Requirements

  • Successfully completed the NNS RadCon Monitor Trainee program which is specifically defined and required by the Navy.
  • At least 6 years experience as a RCT.
  • Must pass required re-qualification exams every 30 months.
  • Department of Defense Confidential Clearance.
