Racker (Production Associate) - 1st Shift
About The Position
Based in Syracuse, NY the Racker will perform essential job functions associate with heat treatment under the direction of the Production Control to meet customer specifications including assisting other employees as needed. This position is eligible for a $1,500 sign-on retention bonus! Bodycote offers paid holidays and paid time off, as well as 401k match, Medical, Dental, and Vision Plans for employees and families. Candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screen and basic physical; have the ability to work full-time, 40+ hours per week. The hours for this position are 7am-3pm. Due to the nature of our business and a heavy industrial market, Bodycote deems this position to be safety-sensitive.
Requirements
- This position must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements, therefore candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holder.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must have knowledge of basic math.
- May be required to work overtime or any shift, including weekends.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain forklift operation certification.
- Must demonstrate the ability to read, write and communicate the English language.
Responsibilities
- Prepares work for processing including cleaning, painting, wiring, fixturing, etc.
- Loads and unloads furnaces, bins, fixtures, baskets, etc.
- Stacks/loads parts in customer bins or containers.
- Immediately brings any unusual problem, irregularity or concern to Heat Treater, Foreman/Lead Person or management.
- Practices and promotes safety and good housekeeping.
- Performs other tasks as assigned or dictated by position.
- This position is responsible for the care and treatment of our customer’s inventory and as such will perform duties in a safe and responsible manner to prevent customer loss or damage.
- Must have the ability to report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co-workers, understand and follow rules and procedures and accept constructive criticism.
