About The Position

Under the direction of the Team Leader, the Rack Roller places processed textile donations in the proper areas and categories on the sales floor. The role maintains the cleanliness and safety of the sales floor and production area, provides customer service, and promptly restocks merchandise. The Rack Roller also follows merchandising, color-rotation, and public-protection procedures and responds calmly to emergencies.

Requirements

Knowledge of textile articles related to garment classification, such as gowns, shirts, and pants.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance.
Vision abilities including close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Ability to stand and walk for long periods.
Ability to stoop, bend, kneel, push, and pull.
Sufficient mobility to turn from side to side, lean, and remove garments from containers.

Nice To Haves

High school education or equivalent is preferred.
Previous retail experience is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

Rotate merchandise according to established procedures and bring it to the sales floor promptly.
Place merchandise in the appropriate textile categories in accordance with merchandising policies and procedures.
Assist with textile color rotation according to established procedures.
Greet customers courteously and provide prompt, efficient, and accurate customer service.
Direct customers to the proper areas and provide general information.
Watch for shoplifting and notify store management of suspicious activity.
Keep the sales floor and production area clean and safe.
Maintain a well-groomed appearance and follow the dress code, including wearing a name badge and vest.
Refer customer complaints to management promptly.
Answer the telephone promptly using established etiquette procedures.
Follow Consumer Product Safety Commission procedures and other Public Protection Guidelines.
React calmly and respond to emergency situations.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Team Leader.
