About The Position

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) powers Oracle’s global cloud services through highly available, large-scale, enterprise-grade data center environments. The Data Center Infrastructure Operations / Facilities team plays a critical role in sustaining OCI’s performance, security, and operational resilience by ensuring infrastructure systems operate reliably at scale. You will join a technically rigorous organization with a culture grounded in operational excellence, disciplined processes, and continuous improvement, where infrastructure reliability, safety, and execution quality are foundational to delivering cloud services worldwide. As Rack Energization Manager, you will manage a team of technicians and/or vendors responsible for rack energization execution within your assigned site(s). You will ensure racks are powered, validated, and transitioned to deployment or operations in alignment with defined procedures, schedules, and safety standards. This role focuses on people management, execution oversight, and operational consistency within a clearly defined scope.

Requirements

  • Experience in data center operations, rack deployment, energization, or field engineering environments.
  • Prior experience leading a team or supervising field operations in a technical environment.
  • Working knowledge of electrical systems, commissioning, or critical infrastructure operations.
  • Strong people management and team leadership skills.
  • Solid operational execution and coordination capabilities.
  • Working knowledge of safety and compliance requirements in industrial or data center environments.
  • Ability to manage priorities within a defined scope and escalate appropriately.
  • Effective communication and collaboration across cross-functional teams.
  • Attention to detail with a focus on quality and process adherence.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day rack energization activities, including power-up, validation, and handoff to downstream teams.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of technicians and/or contingent workers; provide performance feedback and support career development.
  • Ensure adherence to established electrical safety standards, operational procedures, and quality requirements.
  • Coordinate with deployment, facilities, and engineering teams to align on readiness and execution schedules.
  • Monitor progress against plans and escalate risks, delays, or issues impacting delivery.
  • Ensure accurate tracking and reporting of work completion, issues, and key operational metrics.
  • Support vendor oversight to ensure work is executed according to defined standards and expectations.
  • Drive consistency in execution by reinforcing standard operating procedures and participating in continuous improvement efforts.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and root cause analysis of energization-related issues.

  • Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
